Simplicity is the hallmark of good design

I started with a block of plastic,
About 3" by 6" high, 1/2" thick.
A design  first for this beautiful thing,
It isn't  a necklace, nor even a ring.
I made it long ago , not for a friend,
But just to have it, not even to lend.
I cut it out, and filed it until,
 i  polished, polished, I polish it still,
Until even the tiniest flaw,
